I am a firm believer that a woman can’t have too many pairs of shoes. I dismiss statements like, “You can only wear one pair at a time.” as ignorance from people who simply don’t understand the euphoric rush I experience after opening up a spanking new box while catching a whiff of that “new shoe” smell before slipping those babies onto my pretty little feet. This is the kind of devotion and appreciation that inspires Nancy Kim, designer of Devotte footwear. “Devotte is a call to appreciate those things in life worth waiting for-love, art, beauty, fashion, tradition and wisdom” she states, “Devotte’s muse is and always will be loyal “devottes” who wear the brand.”
While studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology Kim noticed a huge void in the market for quality shoes that were comfortable, affordable, and most importantly cute! Armed with previous experience in fashion sales and merchandising, the Brooklyn based designer decided to take action, thus Devotte was born.
Kim’s dedication to the craft of shoemaking is evidenced in the quality and care with which Devotte products are developed. Devotte features artful touches such as whip-stitch, hand knots, and hand perforations; all executed by master artisans. The result: shoes that serve as the perfect platform for looks of everyday splendor.
