02_reese_lgl.jpgkarimatracyreese.jpg As we reflect on the comings and goings of fashion week one show that stands out in our minds would have to be the stellar presentation by Tracy Reese. The spring ’09 show was yet another shining example of the designer’s exceptional talent for capturing the complexity of the female spirit. Floral tea party ready frocks transversed the runway along side ethereal, flowing looks in subdued colors, while sophisticated masterpieces from her Black label added a bit of edge to the ultra feminine aesthetic of the collection.

Our very own Karima Barge, who was amongst the stylish crowd in attendance, described the 46 looks presented as “fun, feminine, and fresh” and credited Reese’s play on soft and strong textures as a highlight of the show. We also got the scoop on a few celeb sightings — the crowd was sprinkled with the faces of Andre Leon Tally, Brandy, Lloyd Boston, and Fern Mallis of IMG & Project Runway, just to name a few. In the end, it was all about the fab fashions and Tracy got a well deserved standing ovation to close out the show.

Special thanks to Trudy Miller for providing the fashion week chic ensemble sported by Fashion Editor, Karima Barge.
