CNN continues its commitment to in-depth, comprehensive reporting on the African-American experience with Black in America 2, Today’s Pioneers and Tomorrow’s Leaders.

Both the dramatic, historic election of the nation’s first African-American president and the passionate community dialogue that followed last year’s Black in America helped inform the focus of this year’s documentaries. Black in America 2 explores what African-Americans are doing to confront the most difficult and intransigent issues facing their community. Soledad O’Brien takes you to neighborhoods all across America where people are working everyday in innovative and unexpected ways to transform the black experience. July 22nd & 23rd, 8 p.m. est.

Clutchettes and gents – are you going to tune in and watch CNN’s Black in America 2?

  • Hi there!

    I have to say that it was a complete waste of time… what did they present that blacks don’t already know??

    If Soledad is trying to create a Black People 101 seminar for white viewers then she is doing a mediocre job. If she is attempting to show her investigative reporting skills, she ought to consider being a full-time stay at home mom instead…

    Not getting a touch up and being on camera was a nice touch… *LOL*

    Soledad trying to adopt a “ghetto pose” in the photo with Malaak was a bit too much of an attempt to show “see? I’m black, I’m really black! See?”…. {yawn}

    Try harder, Soledad… please.

    Thanks for discussing this special report, though! I won’t be expecting much from part two… the segment on pioneers has a spot with Tyler Perry… are they SERIOUS??

    I’d like to have more positive reactions to share…. but there was so much lacking in the “investigative” aspect of the docu-mess-ary… *loooong sigh*

    Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
