Well, well, well. Seems the pop star the media accuses
everyone of copying has been called out for being a copycat by one of her very own idols. Grace Jones not only called Gaga a copycat, the singer, model and muse also refused to perform with her.

In a rare interview with the Guardian, Jones says, “I just don’t play with other acts a rule.” When asked if Gaga copies her, the infamous muse admits, “Well you know, I’ve seen some things she’s worn that I’ve worn, and that does kind of piss me off.”

When asked if Gaga is talented, the 61-year-old star reveals, “I wouldn’t go to see her.” On thinking of Gaga, “I really don’t think of her at all. I go about my business.”

Whoa! Kind of harsh, no? One thing I will say in Gaga’s defense is that she does respect her predecessors. Every chance she gets, she’s honoring David Bowie, Elton John, and Grace Jones among her other idols citing them all as influences.

Is this a case of industry envy or is Grace Jones speaking the truth? Sound off Clutchettes & Gents!

Grace Jones has the right to call her out. There has been no-one before Grace.

It’s not like Grace Jones had a bucketload of Billboard hits. Although I can admire her individual sense of style, she’s always been odd-looking; she’s no Iman and never tore up the runway or fashion world like that in America or Europe.

Outside of playing Strangé she hasn’t done anything ‘noteworthy’ since the 80’s or early 90’s, so Jones should consider taking the imitation as ‘sincere flattery’ instead of coming off as a bitter washed up hag.

I don’t even like Lady Caca…I mean, Gaga…but would it be too much for her to show a bit of grace (no pun intended), especially since Gaga ‘payed homage’ to her as one of her idols and influences!?
