From COCO & CREME –Is it just us, or does it seem like most celebrities with clothing lines are people we’d never want to dress like? Macy Gray, really? Or how about the misleading, and often backward reality that most of these celebrity designers never wear their own pieces? We see you J.Lo. Rather than drop more guilty culprits who can easily go without mentioning, we’d rather suggest or wish upon a star that some sweet sweet day the following starlets will oblige us with their very own clothing lines.
You already know the COCO crew would be all over a Kelis clothing line, like green on broccoli. In fact, we’d be the girls waiting in line for launch day at six in the morning with steamy caramel macchiatos in hand. We’d imagine Kelis’ line to be a sick hybrid of high fashion and street, with funky prints and embellishments. And like her conceptual music work, we see Kelis drawing from transcultural influences and maybe even a little animalistic nuance here and there. And we just have to say, profit from a possible clothing line could supplement those tragic ‘Flesh Tone’ sales.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee seems like the kind of actress turn designer who would take the business of her line seriously. Like maybe even enroll in a History of Fashion class at Parsons or take a illustrating class at FIT. Tracee’s red carpet game has been consistent ever since her big and gorgeous eyes popped onto our television screens as Joan Clayton on the debut of ‘Girlfriends.’ Tracee’s wardrobe oozes vibrant prints in traditional stream-line silhouettes. Never afraid to show off her curvy lines, Tracee is likely to design a collection with the shapely sista in mind.
