VH1 announced in April that they’re turning their popular “Basketball Wives” into a franchise with the production of a new series, “Football Wives,” and now the reality-centric network reveals the cast. The 30-minute show will run for eight episodes and is set to air on Sunday, October 24, in the 10:30 evening spot.
The show takes viewers behind-the-scenes in the lives of the wives of football players. Much like “Basketball Wives,” the series will follow these women who face various challenges from groupies and hubby neglect—all the while living the life in mega mansions and designer clothing.
Just in time for football season, the cast is unveiled. Pilar Sanders, wife of retired NFL player Deion Saunders, will lead the cast, along with Amanda Davis and Mercedes Nelson. These wives and ex-girlfriends will join Chanita Foster, Brittany Pigrenet, Dawn Neufeld, Melani Ismail and Erin McBriar—all of whom are married or in relationships with players in the NFL and UFL.
The show takes place in Dallas with hopes to give Bravo’s bankable “Housewives” franchise a speedy run for its money.
