We can’t get enough of ARISE Magazine! The African-based style publication celebrates achievements in international music, fashion, culture, and even politics. Though its only been around for a couple short years (since 2008), we knew from Issue 1 that the magazine would be a killer. How can you not be great when your debut cover is graced by none other than super-duper models Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, and Liya Kebede?! It was almost too good to be true. Since then, ARISE has been heralded as one of the top global publications in its arena, even winning APA International Publishing’s 2009 award for “Launch of the Year”.

According to its editor Helen Jennings:

ARISE breaks cultural and editorial boundaries with its mix of up front news, exclusive interviews, reportage from around the world and luxury fashion stories. I’m proud to say ARISE is like no other global glossy.”

And we’d have to agree with every word. We look forward to each issue with the gorgeous models in every shade of brown, jaw-dropping fashion spreads, and thought-provoking cultural commentary. And let us not forget all the familiar faces they’ve featured: Toni Braxton, Alicia Keys, Charlize Theron, and Jay-Z, just to name a few. . . . It certainly seems as if ARISE will be here for the long haul . . .
