The following is a how-to video depicting me trying the Avocado Deep conditioner recipe posted in the Coco and Creme “Avocados For Healthy Hair” article.

Peel, seed, and mash 1 avocado and add 1 cup of coconut milk. Combine the ingredients together and mash until the mixture is smooth and thick.

Again, I strongly suggest that you use a mixer for this or you will have bits and pieces of avocado in your hair that will take forever to rinse out (I used a hand mixer on the video but next time I will use a blender). I also added grapeseed oil and honey to my mixture.

After mixing, smooth the mixture through your hair and wait about 10-15 minutes (you can also sit with a plastic cap on as well), then rinse off, making your final rinse with cool water.

Aside from the bits of avocado left in my hair, due to the fact that I didn’t use a blender, the avocado deep conditioner left my hair feeling very soft and moisturized. I tried the treatment before I tried the henna treatment—so you can see my old gray streak.

this looks fab, i’d love to give it a try. This is a great way of using nature to make yourself more fabulous. This is also good if you are pregant are do not want to use products with chemicals whilst pregnant.
Thanks also for the tip on freezing the rest of the coconut milk! I buy that stuff use half and have no use for the other half until its already gone bad! From now on half in the freezer or making a deep conditioner for my hair.

    • I just thawed I some I had frozen for months and it was still good too :o)
