According to HollywoodNews.com, industry heavyweight, Will Smith, and his production company Overbrook Entertainment, are in talks regarding the adaptation of his 2005 romantic comedy “Hitch” into a television series.
“Hitch” starred Smith as a relationship expert, alongside Latina actress Eva Mendes. The comedy was a bankable venture, bringing in a whooping $368.1 million.
Smith, 42, pitched the show in 2007, but it wasn’t picked up as a CBS pilot. But, according to reports, Smith grabbed “The Proposal” screenwriter Pete Chiarelli to make “Hitch” into a laugh-filled one-hour series. Sources confirm that several networks are bidding on the series now.
We’re super excited to see Smith continue his small screen legacy. Since Smith’s “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” days, the superstar has created and executive produced “All of Us” and, most recently, “Hawthorne,” which stars his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.
No reports confirm what actors will star in the comedy series.
Which actors and actresses would you pick for “Hitch,” the TV show? Sound off!
