Little Olivia is all grown up. It’s been nearly 20 years since Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman burst onto the scene as a precocious preschooler on the hit 80’s sitcom,”The Cosby Show.” And since then, she hasn’t slowed down one bit.
Raven-Symoné, in all of her fabulousness, is on the November/December cover of Kontrol Magazine, an Atlanta-based publication. Raven (who looks absolutely stunning in the mag) and “The Game” star, Pooch Hall, share the cover duties in Kontrol’s Body Issue.
In the feature, the 24-year-old media mogul discusses being compared to Oprah, her inspirations (she LOVES Janet Jackson), future plans for her career, and how she’s managed to beat the child star curse.
Since first appearing on “The Cosby Show,” Raven-Symoné has gone on to star in multiple sitcoms (including “That’s So Raven” and “Hangin With Mr. Cooper”), produce TV shows and films, and record several albums. And between endorsement and licensing deals, dolls, her hit TV show, and The Cheetah Girls films, Raven’s brand exploded and is worth an estimated $400 million.
Despite her extraordinary success, however, she still feels like she hasn’t accomplished all of her goals just yet.
“It feels like I still have more to grow. It feels like I haven’t reached the dreams that I set when I was fifteen, I still have a lot more to go but I am happy in the opportunities I have been able to be a part of and finish,” Raven told Kontrol Magazine.
In a world obsessed with celebrities, Raven is one star from whom we can all learn a thing or two. Her success proves hard work, talent, and determination is the only way to obtain lasting success. If only she’d school a few of these hapless celebs, (*ehem* Lindsay Lohan), they might have a shot at saving their careers.
