It’s been the New York must-see show for three years and now the talented DJ Beverly Bond takes her Black Girls Rock! movement to BET airwaves.
Black Girls Rock! is an organization that strives to enrich the lives of urban girls ages 12 to 17-years-old. Bond and her fabulous board of directors took their love for Black girls who rock to the next level honoring Black women young and old for their achievements in this annual awards ceremony.
CLUTCH was at the Bronx’s Paradise Theater for an empowering celebration of Black women. We later joined Bond, Melinda Williams, and a host of media representatives for an exclusive screening this week. Hosted by big-sister-in-our-head, Nia Long, with performances by the incredible Jill Scott, VV Brown, Keri Hilson, and Monica, Bond’s first televised “Black Girls Rock!” acknowledged the life’s work of women like Ruby Dee, Iylana Vanzant and upcoming girls who rock, like Keke Palmer!
Look out for fierce fashions, sisterly love, and a rendition of Nina Simone’s “Four Women” that will blow you away! Airing on the same weekend as the premiere of “For Colored Girls,” November is kicking off to rocking start for Black girls!
Tune in this Sunday at 8pm! Check out this special preview!
