2011 is already looking like a very good year. Lauryn Hill, our favorite elusive singer/emcee, has announced she will be hitting the road this winter.

Maybe she loved the energy she got from popping up at select music festivals like Rock the Bells last summer, but it seems like the reclusive singer has finally decided to come back to the limelight. Amen!

The tour will cover 17 cities in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Canada (sorry West Coasters!), and will take place in smaller, more “intimate” venues. According to the ex-Fugee, you need to take advantage because she “may never play venues of this size again.”

According to a press release from Lauryn’s camp, the tour will consist of Ms. Hill performing Fugee joints as well as songs from her only solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. She assured her fans that they’ll get what they want and promised the “classics, reworked yet faithful to the rigor, soulfulness and power of the original music.”

The only downer? She didn’t mention performing any new music, which would hint that a new album was on the horizon. But if you’re jonesing for new music from Ms. Hill, it seems like Faith Evans has tapped her for the forthcoming Supremes biopic entitled, “Blondie.” HitFix reports that Lauryn could be covering a Supremes or Florence Ballard track for the film’s soundrack. Fingers Crossed.
