Everybody loves ice cream, but what if it was made of breast milk? Well, the Brits love it and one London restaurant hopes you will too. The Icecreamist is now serving up scoops of “Baby Gaga,” its latest flavor made of breast milk. Baby Gaga mixes breast milk and “infuses” it with Madagascan vanilla and lemon zest then freezes it tableside using liquid nitrogen. Well, damn. [Village Voice]
Media Take Out just released previously unseen images documenting Rihanna’s injuries from her February 2009 attack. While it is unclear who leaked the images, or why, they are in a word…shocking. Take a look at them at your own risk. [Media Take Out]
Anti-abortion group messes with the wrong mama. Yesterday, after a larger-than-life-sized billboard appeared in SoHo, NYC saying, “The most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb,” Tricia Fraser demanded it be taken down. Apparently, Fraser didn’t want her daughter’s pretty little face linked to such a controversial issue, and I don’t blame her. Fraser said, “It’s bad enough you’re saying this about African Americans, but then you put a child with an innocent face. I just want the image off of it.” Well, she got her wish. After tons of complaints, the ad was taken down. [Jezebel]
After performing at the White House at a celebration to honor Motown Records, John Legend had a few choice words for the politicians, “I don’t need a tax cut.” Frustrated by the fact that arts and music programs are always the first to get cut in tough times, the Grammy award-winning singer said, “People fought to give me – a millionaire – a tax cut this year,” he said. “I didn’t need it. And all the other millionaires didn’t need it either.” Bravo, John! [The Associated Press]
Lena Horne will be honored at the Oscars. It’s been leaked that Sunday’s broadcast will include a tribute to the legendary singer and actress Lena Horne. Shadow and Act is reporting that Halle Berry will be on hand to present the tribute, but some wonder if this last-minute addition is Hollywood’s way of making up for the fact that there are no Black nominees this year. Hmmm [Shadow and Act]
