One of my favorite new obsessions is back and funnier than ever. A few months ago I introduced you to Issa Rae and her hilarious Internet series, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”
Last month Issa not only let us premiere the second episode, but also sat down to share her thoughts with us about being a Black female filmmaker in such a male-dominated world. Issa also let us in on her inspiration for “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”
“I came up with the idea two years ago mainly based on some of my own awkward moments and the stupid, insecure, uncomfortable, sometimes angry thoughts that occur in my head while I’m interacting with people. I realized that a lot of these awkward moments are universal, so I thought it’d make a funny show.”
Since we featured Issa’s series on Clutch, many of you have fallen in love with the series and have been asking when the next episode would appear. Well, Issa Rae is back with the third installment of “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” and I can’t wait to share it with you.
