Very few women choose to age gracefully these days, instead using cosmetic surgery among other things to keep their youthful look. One woman who has only grown more beautiful as she has gotten older is Kenya Moore. She is truly showing us just how great 40 looks and inspiring us all to stay in shape and take care of ourselves both inside and out.
Kenya hails from Detroit, Michigan and has her African American and Native American roots to thank for her flawless good looks. She is truly a beauty queen, winning Miss USA in 1993 and placing fifth in the Miss Universe pageant in the same year. She has a robust acting career under her belt starring in films including Waiting to Exhale, Deliver Us From Eva and Trois as well as hit television shows including Martin, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Living Single, The Steve Harvey Show, In the House, The Jamie Foxx Show, The Parent ‘Hood, The Parkers, Girlfriends and many more.
Kenya’s beauty has been recognized worldwide and she has covered a slew of major national magazines including Ebony, Essence, Glamour and Seventeen. She created her own foundation, the Kenya Moore Foundation which awards scholarships to under-privileged girls who went to her high school alma mater, Cass Technical High School. She also wrote a book titled, Game, Get Some! in 2007 which was actually written for men, coaching them on how to get the women of their dreams.
Even in 2011, women are still objectified and sometimes judged on looks alone, ignoring the fact that we are much more than that. Kenya Moore is a constant reminder that women can be beautiful, sexy, intelligent and talented, without ever having to sacrifice one for the others. She has made a great career for herself and has gone from beauty queen to philanthropist to even a movie producer, doing it all while looking fabulous.
