This weekend, Amerie went from blushing bride to new wife. The “1 Thing” singer married her boyfriend of several years, former Columbia Records executive Lenny Nicholson in a beachside ceremony in Anguilla.
Though it may have been an island wedding, the bride didn’t opt for a simple white sheath and bare feet, instead wowing the guests in a Monique Lhullier gown complete with a dramatic cathedral train, baby blue Yves Saint Laurent Tribute sandals and jewelry by Rafaello & Co. Her hair was styled into an edgy up-do, decorated with strings of diamonds and pearls. The groom wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo.
The ceremony was held at the Viceroy Anguilla and conducted by Amerie’s pastor Reverend Phillip E. Knight, Sr. “Platinum Wedding” planner Tiffany Nieves-Cook and DC famed florist Janet Flowers helped create the right atmosphere. The couple and their guests danced the night away with DJ Konflikt spinning at the wedding reception.
The singer says she had been waiting for the big day with anticipation. Speaking about the nuptials, Amerie said:
“This is such an exciting time for me. This is my first marriage and I am over the moon. I look forward to a loving and enduring marriage. This day couldn’t come any sooner for me. I am beyond thrilled. I will remember this day forever.”
The new Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson will be spending their honeymoon in Anguilla in the luxury resort’s 5,000 square foot Romance Villa which come with its own private beach.
Congrats to Amerie and Lenny! We wish them all the best!
