Despite most people’s initial assumptions about the cause of Amy Winehouse’s death, a recent toxicology report found no illegal drugs in her system when she died.
Chris Goodman, a family spokesman, released a statement saying, “Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.”
Although drugs weren’t found in her system, alchohol was present. However, Goodman says ” it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.”
Winehouse died July 23 at the age of 27. Although she was a brilliant musician and garnered critical acclaim, she publicly struggled with drug and alcohol abuse throughout her career.
