Apparently, the Qaddafi news isn’t enough to keep people talking. This morning, the blogs are questioning whether or not Rihanna’s latest video, “We Found Love,” is a knock off of Cee Lo’s “No One’s Gonna Love You.”

While both videos show a young, cute, couple involved in some crazy, crazy love, this “young couple gone bad” meme isn’t anything new. It’s a common theme in films, TV shows (UK Skins, as some of you pointed out) and music videos  (Areosmith’s vids come to mind).

So while Rihanna (or even Cee Lo’s) vids may not be completely original, the scope of the video concept is so broad that it can’t be considered plagiarism. But, hey, that’s just me.

You be the judge.

Like others have stated, neither idea is original. The Sid & Nancy theme has been around for decades. It’s like Romeo and Juliet for badasses.

  • Don´t think so.

  • You can’t say that the two videos are exactly alike but at the same time you can’t say that there two different concepts because they’re not. I don’t believe that Rihanna’s director intentionally copied Cee Lo. I do however think that her director was influenced. People are looking at the story line and not the way the video was filmed. There’s a lot of flashing images and different scenes which is what makes the video’s similar.
