This video right here is just too real and I love it! Roc Nation’s newest star, J. Cole, released the video for his single ‘Lost Ones’ and it is indeed powerful to say the least.

The video was shot in 2008 when the rapper was 23-years-old and talks about what a young man goes through as he deals with an unexpected pregnancy. He speaks from the male and female point of view on the situation. An argument with his on screen girlfriend gets heated and at the end he is still contemplating on what he is going to do if his girlfriend still decides to keep the baby.

I am a proud St. John’s University alum and extremely proud of J. Cole’s accomplishments. I think just about everyone can relate to this song whether they have personally dealt with the situation or know someone who has.

I really liked his album. So many people hated on it though. The song reminds me of He Said She Said from Lupes Fiasco’s Food n Liquor. I hope he does a video for his song Nobody’s Perfect with missy. Much prefer this over How to Love.

  • i find it odd that Cole has plenty of songs like this but the boss (Jay) makes poppy, gimmicky songs like (work out and can’t get enough) his singles. hmmm.. anyway, i love it!
