This is starting to get ugly.

After demanding the court revoke Usher’s joint physical custody of their children last week, TMZ is reporting that Tameka Raymond has another demand: Make Usher take a drug test.

While I’m not sure of the basis of Tameka’s claims, this latest request also has to do with the former couple’s custody battle.

TMZ reports:

Usher refused [drug testing] on grounds Tameka’s demands were “frivolous and unfounded” and only intended to “harass and embarrass” the singer. But now, Tameka’s lawyers are taking her case back to the judge in the ex-couple’s custody war, pleading with the court to force Usher to take the test despite his refusal.

And according to the docs, Tameka wants the court to make it snappy — claiming, any further delay will allow Usher to “cleanse” any evidence of drugs from his system.

Up until this point, the divorce and custody issues between Usher and ex-wife Tameka have flown under the radar, so I wonder what prompted this public spat. Usher has been tight-lipped about the case (as he should be), while we continue to see the sordid details of their divorced life come to light.

As I said last week, I hope these two can solve their issues quickly and amicably because at the end of the day, they have two young sons who are stuck in the middle of their bickering.

While divorce is never easy, handling the situation like responsible adults for the sake of the children is what’s most important.

Let’s hope Usher and Tameka get it together.

uh…if he has nothing to hide, why refuse a drug test?

Because it’s unnecessary. If Tameka fears for the safety of her children around their father, then sure, a drug test is a good way to deduce that the father is unfit. But she sincerely has to establish a clear basis for a drug test. Otherwise, the question isn’t, “What do you have to hide?” It is really, “What is the point?”
