From Glamazons Blog: When will writers learn that using the “n-word” is highly inappropriate? Just weeks after Jackie Magazine called Rihanna a “n*ggabitch” then apologized and retracted it, here we are again. A writer at Gawker attempted to pick fun at Kanye West‘s twitter rant about his new company Wednesday night by using the “n-word” again. The writer, Seth Abramovitch, turned Kanye West’s company, DONDA, into an acronym, saying it stood for “Dis Original Nigga Dresses Aight.” Not only is it infuriating that he used the N-Word in his humorless joke, but Donda is Kanye’s late mother’s name. How dare he slander it that way.

Here’s the full passage:

You think Tom Ford is full of himself? Kanye West shits Tom Fords for breakfast. Then he irons out the shits into cutting-edge fabrics, and frantically cuts, sews, and laces that fabric through the night and into the morning, until he has produced the most unbelievable clothes — nay, FASHION + ART = FARTSHION! — in the universe. And he calls these clothes DONDA. But he calls all that other stuff DONDA, too! DONDA will be your everything. Just you wait and see. And what is DONDA? It’s an acronym for Dis Original Nigga Dresses Aight.

And much like Jackie Magazine‘s team, Abramovitch followed up with a half-hearted apology.

  • The n-word is a racist term that shouldn’t be used by anyone, and African Americans, those who make liberal use of the term—of all people—definitely should refrain from keeping the word alive. The following petition campaign drive is a message to Black America denouncing its use of the pejorative term:

Hard to be outraged over the Gawker post while Kanye is making cash off a song called “N*ggas in Paris”.

I don’t think it really matters that he’s dropping the N- word in his song. What matters most is that the author is poking fun at his late mother’s name, in addition of incorporating the N- word. If you don’t see anything wrong with that then…..
Making money off a a word or not, just show some respect [for a person’s parent, dead or alive].

ia w/rkj. he has no respect for himself with that song n-word in paris. since the main consumers of rap music is whites, i am sure he and jay could have used some foresight and not used that term. i do not care.

ugh I saw that and was like wtf! Forget about Kanye’s use of the word what the author did was totally disrespectful to Black ppl. Also was that weak a$s apology.
