Do you admire the ethereal makeup trend but frightened by the possibility of it looking ashy on you? Wearing icy shimmery metallic hues may be unfamiliar territory to you – but it can be done right! Mixing techniques and textures can create the perfect icy winter look for women of color.
Cooler pearlized shades of lavender, sable, brown and beige in cream and powder form will give the eyes celestial gaze. Here are a few steps:
1. Apply a creamy metallic shadow base from lash line to brow bone. Use MAC Fawntastic Cream Color Base. For oily lids, use a base that dries down like Urban Decay Rehab CreamShadow i.
2.One of the tricks to pulling it off is pair your metallic lid with a matte textured crease of a warm brown hue. This gives a light contour to the eye by creating faint definition. Use Laura Mericer Truffle eyeshadow or MAC Saddle eyeshadow.
3. Apply a soft wash of a shimmery loose powder shadow with a fluffy domed brush and a white pearl colored shadow in the inner corner of the lid. Use OCC Loose Colour Smote and Obscure Pigments and MAC brushes #219 and #224. Be sure to apply shadows to lower lash line to create a balanced eye.
4. Apply NYX Jumbo Pencil in milk to water line to create a wide-eye effect. Sweep Laura Mercier Chesnut Caviar Liner closely along the top and bottom lash line. No line is also optional.
5. Load up Benefit BAD GAL Lash volumizing mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
