If you thought Beyonce was slowing down after the birth of her baby Blue Ivy, think again.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the singer-turned-actress has just signed on to star in a new film with her bestie Gwyneth Paltrow. The film, tentatively titled One Hit Wonders, is about three washed-up singers who had a few hits in the ’90s, but have since fallen off. The three unite to form a group and take another stab at stardom.

Although it’s not clear what role Beyonce will play, the film will also reportedly star Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon, who will play the members of the singing group, and is being written by Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy.

Guess I’m in the minority, but it sounds like fun to me. It sounds light hearted, cute and positive…sometimes I need a break from serious movies. I don’t think I’d pay to see it in the movie theater, but I’d definitely check it out on Netflix or one of the stations.

It sounds like chick-flick meets musical, both of which are doing well in movies and TV. I’ll pass but I’m sure her younger fans (and the fans of the other women) will enjoy it.

  • But but but….Beyonce can’t act! WHY LAWD!!! *runs off screaming and crying*
