Have you ever said something that you immediately realized sounded ridiculous, and that comment just echoes in your head for a few seconds while you sit in silent saltiness, wishing you had phrased things differently? It’s a shame, but as off-base as his prison pleasure stories sounded I don’t think that Ja Rule had that feeling.

The New York Daily News recently interviewed the former Murder Inc. rapper, who has been locked up since June for tax evasion and gun possession, and his comments make his run at Mid-State Correctional Facility in upstate Oneida, N.Y sound like some sort of life-skills retreat. He’s been doing a lot of networking the other inmates in what seems to be the ‘special people’ ward. His new homies include Dennis Kozlowski, the disgraced Tyco CEO who he calls “Koz,” and corrupt politician Alan Hevzi, who he calls “Hevey D,” both men whose crimes had stakes amounting to millions of dollars. Ja Rule says “outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day.”

What I wanna know is, what married man with three children gets put away and calls prison “amazing?” Watch a snippet of the interview below.

Although Ja Rule is not scheduled for release until February 2013, he plans to release a new album Pain is Love 2, at the end of this month.

Given the reports that black men are living longer in prison than out than prison is probably amazing for black men. It adds an extra 5-10 years on their life. Obama could have used that fact to sell his healthcare plan. Meh!

From reading the article I guess prison life is amazing for Ja Rule. Maybe that’s the reason so many African American men keep returning to prison because it’s not as bad as people think. It has to be a reason for that sort of behaviour.

I’m all late! Shoot, I didn’t even know he was locked up. Well, that’s because I don’t keep up with what’s goes on in the world.
