Fashion Fair cosmetics, a beauty and make-up company whose primary goal is to serve women of color, has been on a mission to redefine its brand and appeal to younger audiences. Back in the 1970s, when there were very few beauty and make-up lines targeting African-American women, Fashion Fair fulfilled that need. With the recent success of Fashion Fair makeup products, including concealers, eye-shadows and of course my all time favorite lip teasers, they have diversified their product line by offering a new line of skincare products.

Fashion Fair’s VANTEX True Tone promises to even your skin tone while producing healthy looking skin. The new line consists of the VANTEX True Tone Dark Spot Corrector and the VANTEX True Tone SPF 15 Moisturizer. Tired of looking at those pesky dark spots and acne marks on your skin, then the Dark Spot Corrector may be exactly what your skincare regimen calls for. Couple the Dark Spot Corrector with the SPF 15 Moisturizer, may result in nourished and smoother looking skin.

However, with so many skincare products on the market it may be difficult deciding whether or not the VANTEX True Tone collection is worth purchasing. As a black woman, I do feel a certain level of confidence in a brand that caters and specializes in my skin. But, is that fact enough to get me to go out and try the product?

Will you be trying Fashion Fair’s new skincare line?

i started working with Fashion Fair when I was 17 as a counter manager. Initially, I was not sure if I was really going to be happy with working with such an outdated (old products, old image, red undertone foundation, etc) company. But I was really excited that I earned a cool position at such a young age…besides…i was an aspiring make-up artist. well..i learned so much about the product…i made it happen!

i took time out to understand how the products worked (blending, color theory, texture,formula)..i also realized that many of the skincare items were really straight to the point; getting the job done. Granted ALL of the dated cosmetic lines had to re-develop their product (i.e. Estee Lauder, Borghese), Fashion Fair was a much slower.

Being that young and learning to appreciate the line, I had a booming counter! Vantex, for the entire company, was one of the TOP SELLING products. The key here is that they are now using “natural skin brighteners.” That’s an upgrade to this specific item that screams FF is looking out for the customer by using less harmful ingredients, and not compromising their product.

Again, it is still catching up…and maybe Sam Fine is what they need…let’s not lose confidence in FF…and if you never had any in them…try to have a little.

**in my pic I have on creme to powder Tender Stick and golden loose powder under my eyes. LOL…NO…i do not work for FF anymore…that was 10 years ago*** Forgive my rant

I thought FF was for older women but I use their products. I got tired of waiting on MAC reps and they were not friendly towards me at the time so I ended up going to FF because they didn’t have a lot of customers and the beauty rep was dark skin like me, looked professional and polished. I have used their skincare products in the past and continue to use their botanical gel cleanser. I have used their skin moisturizer with SPF 15, their toner and facial mask. I thought their products were great for my skin but when I needed to restock, it was difficult to find or they were out of stock most of the time so I ended up switching to the philosophy purity cleanser and moisturizer. People would ask me what I used on my skin, I would say FF. I have a few of their lipsticks and chocolate raspberry is one of my favorite colors from FF. I will continue to support FF.
