“Too many people are thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, when they ought to just water the grass they are standing on.” – Amar Dav

Far too often we look at other people’s lives and want what they have or have accomplished. But aside from the shiny exterior, we have no idea what their life actually looks like or what it took to get them where they are. Despite how good it looks, they could be miserable and thinking that you have it together.

Instead of wanting what others have and needlessly pining away–whether it’s a new car, banging job, or a seemingly happy life–set your mind on tending to your own needs and wants. Invest in yourself, set goals, and take care of your own grass and you’ll realize that your life and your successes are what you really should be working toward, not coveting someone else’s.

Happy Thursday!

Britni: Thanks so much for the reminder. So many people need to hear this. A friend told me about someone that bought a new car; because she bought one. How ridiculous is that!! Why in the hell would I go into thousands of dollars in debt to try and keep up with the Jones!!
