Well, summer is almost here, and in addition to the warmer weather, backyard BBQs, and cut-off shorts, we can also get ready for the onslaught of big budget pictures. Last week marked the official start of Summer Blockbuster season with the release of Will Smith’s Men In Black III, and this weekend another contender hits theaters, Snow White and the Huntsman.

Although I’m not one for fairy tales (my mother did make sure she read them all to me as a child, though), this movie just looks DOPE. While I’m not usually a fan of fantasy films (I didn’t see Twilight, Avatar, or the Hunger Games), certain movies that are able to adeptly pair great acting and story lines with an amazing backdrop (think ‘Lord of the Rings’), catch my eye. And when I first saw the trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman, I knew I wanted to see it.

According to the film’s synopsis, the story follows the Huntsman as he is “ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed” but in a twist of fate, he “winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.”

The film stars Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and I’ll definitely be copping my ticket this weekend.

How about you? Will you be seeing Snow White and the Huntsman?

This is nothing to be excited about.

I will watch it for Thor, The lovely Chris Hemsworth!

  • I was extremely excited for this movie, but it was very disappointing. Not nearly enough action… the trailer did a great job of sucking me in, but at the end of the day I could’ve taken much less Snow White and more Hunstman. I would recommend waiting for it to come on HBO lol.
