Tami Roman has dropped a few pounds, and she’s crediting over the counter weight loss pills as a big factor in reaching her goal weight of 160 pounds. According to her website, she’s already dropped from a size 12/14 to an 8/10. Allegedly, she enlisted the help of NV weight loss pills and sprinkles, and she’s lost 12 pounds so far.

“ A few months ago, I quit smoking and to cope, I transferred my dependency from one vice to the next,” wrote Roman on her website. “I ate everything that wasn’t nailed down. I looked up one day and I actually weighed 185 lbs.  I decided to try a diet product to help suppress my appetite, in which most of you know, I opted for NV pills and NV Sprinkles. Much to my surprise, NV actually worked.”

Oh Tami, kudos for the weight loss, but over the counter diet pills aren’t the healthiest way to go. Even with simple Google search of these pills, you can read the numerous reviews on Amazon, where people list the crazy side effects.  Although these diet pills may offer a quick fix, it’s just that a “fix”.  Although some of the ingredients listed are “all natural”, the pills, as with most non-FDA approved diet pills sold over the counter, contain large amounts of caffeine.

Tami Roman isn’t the first celebrity to hock diet pills. Kim Kardashian has been a spokesperson for QuickTrim for a couple of years now. Even with her current weight loss kick, she has said she’s back on her pills. “Since I started QuickTrim again a few weeks ago, I’m down 6 lbs!!! Yay best feeling. I was getting discouraged but now I’m so motivated!” she wrote on her Twitter account.

Earlier this year, Huffington Post wrote an expose on QuickTrim, citing the pills merely over hyped and not healthy. Among the ingredients includes large amounts of caffeine as well as other herbal ingredients that can increase the effects of the caffeine. “It irritates me that they’re not saying how much caffeine is in these pills,” Dr. Fugh-Berman says, a physician and associate professor in the complementary and alternative medicine master’s degree program at Georgetown University Medical Center. “Too much caffeine can make you jittery and increase your blood pressure and pulse. If you pop a couple of these pills with your Starbucks coffee, that’s not good; you could get caffeine poisoning, which can cause heart arrhythmias.”

Losing weight is great, but does it matter how much you’ve lost if you’re in a hospital because of a bad heart? Neither QuickTrim or NV pills are FDA approved. The only over the counter pill that is FDA approved is Alli and even that comes with warnings and side-effects.  Before deciding to add OTC pills to your regimen, it would be a good idea to check with your doctor.

Um, you do know that back in the day, this chick got her mouth wired shut to lose weight. so you should not be surprised she uses diet pills. I’m sure she’s used a lot of things to maintain a certain look, since chasing ball players seems to be her career. Aside from the fact that she’s just another chicken head basketball groupie, I don’t know why she’s even being discussed.

But a lot of women do unhealthy things to achieve a certain size, mainly b/c as long as you are the “right” size, people incorrectly assume you are healthy and stay out of your face about it.

If she was larger but actually working out, she’d have a lot of internet experts concern trolling on her health and giving her advice since the experts think everyone’s body acts the same say and should be the same size.

Celebrity endorsed weight loss gimmicks are sooo shady. These chicks act like they live on $30K a year when n fact that is what they spend a year at the doc’s office (well maybe not Tammi).

All these women who tout weight loss 2 hrs after giving birth or after 2 years of being fat now i’m thin again is sooo f*cking evil. At a time when women are suffering to make ends meet…..some self serving celeb wants to tell you that she lost weight by popping pills or following a meal plan…Bytch pleaze! Be real and tell us the name of the doctor who sucked all that fat off the back of yo azz and how much you pay some trainer to “snap that p*ssy back”… then I’ll believe you.

First off, this heffa is not Hollywood. If she showed up at a vip party there would be major side eye and smirks. That being said, Hollywood would have no power to promote this BS if regular Jills weren’t buying them. So the person sitting next to you, she could be “promoting this effry too. as long as you are no longer an impressionable kid/teen you can’t point the finger anymore.

  • I thought she got a tummy tuck a few seasons ago??? Does she ever mention any exercise as a part of her weight lose? Not eating and staring is one thing, but to maintain the weight loss you will eventually need to eat and exercise. There is no quick fix other than the person having some self control and excepting their bodies.
