Two sistahs are burning up the streets of New York City with their style and talent. Charly and Marguex are the starlets of their own musical duo. They have been seen playing classical violin in subway stations and on the streets of New York and have performed at a variety of small bars and clubs.

Based in Brooklyn, Charly and Margaux met two years ago and do some spunky renditions of modern hip-hop and R&B — including a fun remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “The Recipe”.

Did we mention that they rock some fabulous afros while being musical beasts? Check for them at their upcoming performance on December 19th at 168 Delancy if you’re in New York.

There is something beautiful and powerful about Black women playing instruments. I actually used to play the violin and the clarinet, but I’ve long stopped and am a bit ashamed about that.

Thanks for the share though! I’m officially a fan of these women!
