Today, February 4th, is the fourth day of Black History Month, it is also the 100th birthday of a woman whose refusal to be pushed around simply because of the color of her skin, made her an icon to a people and a movement.
That woman is Rosa Parks.
As we celebrate Black History Month and the life and legacy of a Civil Rights icon, let’s remember that these moments are about more than looking up facts on a computer.
They are about carrying the torch and keeping the spirit of Rosa Parks’ sacrifice and the sacrifices of all our Black heroes burning bright.
So in honor of what would’ve been Ms. Parks’ 100th birthday, here are three things you can do to make sure her dedication is gone, but not forgotten.
