Midwest Mother Launches 1st “Pretty Brown Skin Day” on Feb. 23rd
Sheri Crawley, a Midwestern mother of two girls is gearing up to launch the first Pretty Brown Girl Foundation International Pretty Brown Skin Day set for Feb. 23. That day is to be a day of empowerment and encouragement designed to help young girls appreciate their varying and diverse complexions and skin tones while the develop self-esteem and confidence. Partnering with churches, sororities, families and other organizations across the globe, the Pretty Brown Girls Foundation will help launch Pretty Brown Girl Clubs, creating a support system for girls to join in the conversation on self-worth and self-esteem. {Good Black News}

Sanya Richards-Ross TV Show ‘Glam And Gold’ Coming To WeTV Network
Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross and her football-playing husband Aaron Ross are the latest to submit themselves to reality television’s cameras. “Glam & Gold,” a summer series involving the two athletes will focus on Richards-Ross, who has a family that also serves as business partners. Filming has already begun in Austin and Jacksonville. {Huffington Post}

Nia Long Guest Stars On ‘House of Lies”
Showtime’s hit series House of Lies has earned much attention since it debuted in 2012. Now in its second season, the clever comedy about an over-the-top consultant, played by Golden Globe winner Don Cheadle has added Nia Long as a guest star this upcoming season. Nia will be playing Tamara, a wife and mother trying to get back into the game after a long hiatus. {Essence}

    • Sadly it is a sign of the times. Congrats to Beyonce on her doc because it is not a dig at her but people’s interests but her doc and the H. Katrina doc wasn’t that far off in #. I would love for Spike Lee to do an update on the H. Katrina doc though. The ladies looked lovely at the Luncheon, love the pretty brown skin day initiative, yay for Nia getting work love her and Sanya’s show.
