Help Find Terrilynn Monette

A New Orleans teacher has been missing since Saturday, March 2nd. Terrilynn Monette, 26, was last seen at Parlay’s Bar in the Lakeview section of New Orleans. Monette came to New Orleans from California in 2011 as a fellow with TeachNOLA, a nonprofit group that places educators in metro area schools. She was out with friends celebrating a recent “Teacher of The Year” nomination. Witnesses at the bar said she decided to rest in her car before heading home early that morning.

Monette hasn’t been heard from since.

“I absolutely do not regret my decision to move out here,” Monnette said in a YouTube video from 2011. “Becoming a teacher in New Orleans is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.”

Monette is a second grade teacher at Woodland Elementary School and  the principal is urging people for their help.
“We want to get her beautiful face seen by everyone, so that one person who might know something, sees her, can call the authorities and bring her home to us,” said Amy Hoyle, principal at Woodland West Elementary, where Monette teaches second grade.

Police are also still looking for Terrilynn Monette’s 2012 black Honda Accord with the Louisiana license plate WUN 494. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
