There are few summer activities as pleasurable as plopping down with a comfortable towel at the beach and reading an engrossing book until the sun begins setting behind the horizon. Several esteemed writers including Walter Mosley, Maya Angelou and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie are capitalizing on the heat wave, releasing new works worth devouring this season. So, grab some friends, pack a light lunch and head to a local beach to enjoy these reads.

I can’t wait to get my hands on these. Now I can run off and hide in the library. Or maybe just my backyard.

Isn’t Dan Brown racist? I remember reading one of his book (Angels and demons) where he was comparing a black woman to an old chimp. seriously just because of that I stopped consuming his stuff.

  • Yay to this post!!! I love Chimamanda!

I also suggest her short stories “The Thing Around My Neck” as it’s great vacation reading.

Or anything by Zadie Smith and Noviolet Bulawayo
