Earlier this year, Jordan Davis was shot dead outside of a gas station by Michael Dunn. Dunn allegedly confronted the teen and his car filled with friends because they were playing their music too loud.  The incident drew parallels to the killing of Trayvon Martin, especially since they both happened in Florida.

As a senior at  Samuel W. Wolfson High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Davis was set to graduate with his classmates this week. Unfortunately, that will never happen.  According to Jet magazine,  Jordan’s parents, Ronald Davis and Lucia McBath, were presented with  an honorary high school diploma, along with two other families of students who died that year. The commencement ceremony, as well as the distribution of the honorary degrees to the late students, was held at the University of North Florida.

Michael Dunn was indicted on a first degree murder and  plead not guilty to the murder charges and is scheduled to stand trial in September

Yes, this is a nice gesture of earning his diploma. But in this case – it is just a piece of paper.

He is DEAD and can never use it towards a job or a higher degree.

I couldn’t imagine that. This is so very heartwrenching..
