And the reality TV trend continues to flourish…

BET recently announced that the network is adding four new reality TV shows to diversify programming that also includes scripted shows like “The Game,” and “Being Mary Jane.”

The most highly anticipated of the reality shows is “Hip Hop Sisters” which stars MC Lyte, Yo Yo, Lil Mama, The Lady of Rage, Smooth and Monie Love as they each try to relaunch their careers.

The network offered the below description on the new program:

HIP HOP SISTERS is a docudrama following the relaunch of six female rappers’ careers. MC Lyte, The Lady of Rage, Yo Yo, Smooth, Monie Love and Lil Mama join forces and declare themselves the Hip Hop Sisters. Their goal is to reclaim their titles as the Queens of Hip Hop — as they manage their drama-filled personal careers and lives and search for the next great female MC. MC Lyte joins Lemuel Plummer (Vindicated, The Sheards) as executive producer.

Like “R&B Divas,” “Hip Hop Sisters,” can provide viewers with an unprecedented look behind-the-scenes of the music industry and give them a clearer understanding of what it takes to sustain a career as an entertainer. It will also be great to see some of our favorite old school rappers, from MC Lyte to The Lady of Rage, back in the spotlight again.

Would you watch BET’s latest reality series, Clutchettes?

Mc lyte and yo yo are the only two I care for but not enough for me to care. I won’t be tuning in either.

    I agree with wfm.

  • One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn’t belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

  • The Lil Mama addition is confusing. But I am so excited to see what the other women have been up to. Yo-Yo and Smooth were everything to me when I was a girl.

BET is never ready for an artist so fearless like Jean Gray. She would be the only reason to really want to spend my time watching this show. Happy to see behind the scens on Yoyo and Mc Lyte thou.

Too bad for the rest of the ladies, but the inclusion of Lil Mama is going to cost this show at least 80% of it’s target audience…For real.
