Never one to hold her tongue, Solange Knowles let the Twitterverse know exactly how she feels about black culture vultures. She tweeted:

Twitter users immediately assumed her tweet was directed toward Miley Cyrus, the former Disney star who, because of her penchant for rapping and twerking, has been accused of trying to be black.

Here are a few responses:

Whether she’s referring to someone specific or not, we have to agree: it’s fun to “play black” unless you’re actually black, and have to deal with the systematic racism and discrimination that comes with it.

People do wha’ts convenient for them or to be accepted by folks. Just be yourself and you will be alright! And by the way Hipster isn’t color specific.

Honey tell that to your sister who let Iggy Azalea’s wack wannabe rapper self open for her tour. No talent there, and I can’t STAND her voice. B could’ve chosen a rising black female rapper who could use the publicity. There are plenty to choose from.

  • How exactly is Solange a Hipster? She’s normally in creative African fashions? No disrespect to your family, but if you’re saying that your nephews “don’t see color” is an indicator to me that they are more than likely white washed. Please raise these kids to take pride in who they are and where they come from. I’ll leave with this quote “everybody wants to be Black until the cops show up”

“sub-tweeting” is for cowards. If you have something to say, make it plain. I believe the old foiks used to call this signifyin’.
