On top of doing research on Oreo cookies, Connecticut College has participated in V-Day, the global activist movement to end domestic violence against women and girls for 11 years.  This year the college hosted productions of “The Vagina Monologues” to raise awareness and funds for domestic violence. To date, the college has donated $65,922 to local anti violence organizations.

This year Connecticut College reached out to 100 male students as part of V-Day’s One Billion Rising For Justice Campaign to ask them “Why are vaginas important to you”.  Insert a few awkward pauses, responses, and quizzical faces, but the common answer was because they all came from one.
