Another open letter has gone viral.  The letter first appeared on‘s Facebook page and is from a grandfather who scolds his daughter for kicking her gay son out of the house after he decided to come out of the closet. Full details surrounding the incident aren’t available but in the letter the grandfather tells his daughter that “‘kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real ‘abomination’ here. A parent disowning her child is what goes ‘against nature.'”

The unknown grandfather continues to let his daughter know that just as his grandson was born left-handed, he was born gay: “He was born this way and didn’t choose it more than he being left-handed. You, however, have made a choice of being hateful, narrow-minded and backward. So while we are in the business of disowning children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gay {sic] put it) grandson to raise…”

Many people may find it commendable that the grandfather is accepting of his grandson, but is disowning his daughter the right thing to do?

You go, gramps!

Wow. Did he call his daughter the b-word? As i see it, gramps is beating her up for dis owning her son but serves her the same dish…how does that make him better?

    • Those were my thoughts exactly. I’m glad that he stood up for and continues to support his grandsn on but dang. IDK. He spoke to her that way for reasons best known to himself. Maybe she’s one of those people who needs that kind of “tough love”. *kanye shrug* Hope they can build back a better relationship on all fronts.

    The whole thing sounds fake.

  • he called her what she was behaving as. the problem with too many people is that they’re so caught up in semantics, they miss the POINT. she disowned her SON. he obviously didn’t raise her to be so hateful and he’s obviously disappointed in her behavior and has told her so because as her father…he can. i’m sure him calling her a bitch is no worse than the names she probably called her son before she put him out of the house.
