The 2-year-old Omaha toddler who’s cursing video went viral will remain with his teenage mother, a judge ruled this week. The Omaha juvenille court judge ruled that the toddler and his mother would be placed with the same foster family.

The infamous video shows the toddler being teased and cursed at by adults and the child is also heard swearing. The Omaha Police Association posted the ivdeo on their page because they felt they had  “an obligation to share it to continue to educate the law abiding public about the terrible cycle of violence and thuggery that some young innocent children find themselves helplessly trapped in.”

“Now while we didn’t see anything in this video that is blatantly ‘illegal’, we sure did see a lot that is flat out immoral and completely unhealthy for this little child from a healthy upbringing standpoint,” the association wrote, noting that someone in the room asked the child, “What hood you from?”

“Folks… soak this in,” the post said.

Last week, the teen mother was removed from the home and placed in custody and authorities released more information about the family. The teen also spoke out against the video and defended her parenting skills.

“He’s a smart little boy. All that cussing that he did, he doesn’t do that,” the mother said. “Somebody told him to do that. My son doesn’t do that. I don’t allow it.”

She said a friend of her brother filmed the video while she was in another room.

“He was wrong for doing that … posting the video up and getting us into this situation,” she said. “Everybody that thinks I’m a bad mother, I’m not. I’m a good mother to my son. I teach him a lot. He’s very smart.”

According to a social worker,  the living of the teen and her son was already on their radar from previous incidents. It was noted a petition that relatives allowed gang members in the household, even after previous visits from social services. The petition also showed that the toddler was one of five injured in October when someone fired shots through the front door of a home. The toddler’s grandmother was recently arrested on weapons charges.

Hopefully after all is said and done in this case, the toddler and his mother end up in good hands.

The standard bar of being a good mother has been dropped below 0. The grandmother is a criminal, the mother is a dingbat and the only male influences are jail bird scum. If that poor child grows up to be a constructive member of society then there is a god. SMDH.

I am black but have lived all my life in Europe. I like clutch because it gives me the opportunity to talk with African American woman and to know a little bit more about you and your history and see what we have in common and what our differences are.

Not so long ago I stumbled (on Pinterest) upon the picture of Ruby Bridges going to school surrounded but US Marshalls. I was fascinated by this picture which tells so much of personal and national history. Never before had a picture touched me, overwhelmed me so much that I had tears in my eyes.

So when I read headlines like the one about the cursing toddler, I think about the picture of little Ruby Bridge going to school and it makes me so sad.
