Alright, at this point, we (and Jared Leto) are not the only ones who are in love with Lupita Nyong’o — people all over the world have fallen for the Academy Award winner, thanks to her incredible talent, effortlessly chic sense of style (seriously, she can do no wrong), and the fact that every time she opens her mouth, she says something truly worth listening to. Her fanbase has been quick to grow and is incredibly inspired by the star, as evidenced by the insane amount of fan art that has been made about Lupita. There’s even a Tumblr that’s compiling the various images, some of which Lupita herself has tweeted or posted on Instagram. Check out a few more of my faves after the jump, and a bunch more over at the link! [Tumblr]

That’s great! I saw a commercial for summer clothes that prominently featured a darker model with a haircut similar to Lupita’s. it was also very cool that the same commercial featured a lighter skinned sister with long hair and well as white models. It was cool that they sent the message that there is more than one “formula” for pretty black women.

I am just so happy for her. She is deserving of all the admiration and she is so very humble about it all.

She will continue to be my girl-crush and is most certainly a credit to our race.

    Gone head Lupita! :D

I hope her star continues to shine bright.

The model you saw could have been either Ajak Deng, Ataui Deng, Atong Arjok or Grace Bol. These models have been appearing in numerous ads way before Lupita’s popularity, but you won’t see them inside black magazines, other than Essence.

Are all of those models South Sudanese? I know Deng and Bol are Dinka surnames.

  • I like the second to last one.
