Tyler Perry’s latest movie was sort of a dedication to single moms, after all his mother was one. But perhaps single moms everywhere weren’t feeling this flick.
Perry’s The Single Moms Club opened Friday in fifth place, grossing a little over $8M, or $13M below the animated movie Mr. Peabody and Sherman. The movie stars Nia Long and follows a group of five struggling moms who form a sisterhood over their parenting obstacles.
His last film, A Madea Christmas, debuted at $16M, which was still low compared to his other titles.
Perhaps it’s time to take a break from movies?
