title1Tyler Perry’s latest movie was sort of a dedication to single moms, after all his mother was one. But perhaps single moms everywhere weren’t feeling this flick.

Perry’s The Single Moms Club opened Friday in fifth place, grossing a little over $8M, or $13M below the animated movie Mr. Peabody and Sherman. The movie stars Nia Long and follows a group of five struggling moms who form a sisterhood over their parenting obstacles.

His last film, A Madea Christmas, debuted at $16M, which was still low compared to his other titles.

Perhaps it’s time to take a break from movies?

Chile please… His movies are all the same. ‘Helpless women that can’t live their life without a man in some type of way. Honey, sit down.

This movie wasn’t too bad. Probably what I expected. I didn’t feel it was a waste of money.

After I heard that he went on Chelsea Handler’s show to get white ppl to support his movie I checked out of seeing it….maybe Ill red box it. *shrugs*
He REALLY needs to get a entertainment group. Like different black writers, directors, etc. “His” POV isn’t original.

I think he’s done some pretty good films myself. The one I liked least was the one he let someone else direct. That was “Peeples” I just didn’t really like that one even though it had a pretty good cast. Even the best film makers have some films that do as others; although it seems that some pray for Perry’s films to fail and I just don’t quite understand that.

With weather being so bad in most places, I’ve haven’t heard of any movies that did that great over the last month. I can’t wait to see it, myself.

He should collaborate with Spike Lee and bring The Black Count to theaters. Awesome book. Or do the life story of Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges!!!! Both are great stories that should be told!!!!
