After much backlash last year for portraying Nina Simone, Zoe Saldana is reportedly in talks to play the icon behind “Marcus, Darling, I don’t have any panties on,” or the late Eartha Kitt.
The movie is set to cover 60 years of Kitt’s life as singer, actress, dancer and activist, including her vocal opposition to the Vietnam War, the 1968 showdown with Ladybird Johnson during a White House Luncheon, and her blacklist from the States.
Kitt’s other credits include “Santa Baby” and “I’d Rather Be Burned as a Witch.”
In addition to depicting Simone and Kitt, Saldana will co-star in the Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis project and star in NBC’s adaptation of “Rosemary’s Baby.”
No details of a possible release date for the Eartha Kitt biopic as of yet.
