After much deliberation – because, well, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story aired last October – Perri “Pebbles” Reid has sued Viacom for $40 million.
Reid claims the movie portrays her “as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.” She insists she was the complete opposite: She never controlled TLC’s lawyers or accountants, never withheld their contract, and always paid them what they were owed.
And my mind just went back to the Toyota Rav4 scene.
Reid further claims that Viacom “ignored fundamental canons of journalistic and literary conduct by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice.”
A spokesperson for Viacom says it’s not their policy to comment on litigation matters.
