The Seattle Seahawk player some labeled a “thug” had the opportunity to speak at Harvard University earlier this week along with Arizona receiver Larry Fitzgerald and former Broncos cornerback Domonique Foxworth.

Cornerback Richard Sherman told attendees of “The Modern Black Male Athlete” at Harvard that he tried to started a conversation about how the media and fans view blacks right before haters called him a thug.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster laughs, “If you call Richard Sherman a thug, you have never seen a thug.”

While I don’t agree with Sherman’s attacks on Crabtree (the one after the NFC game and his subsequent signing of posters with “Sorry, Crabtree”), everything he says about perceptions about Black male athletes is correct. Look at the media’s handling of situations with Colin Kaepernick and DeSean Jackson. Sherman may be a jerk, to a certain extent, but he ain’t wrong.
