Bobbi Kristina may think no one can play her late mom, Whitney Houston, except her. But the casting crew for the made-for-TV film I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story thinks differently. America’s Next Top Model alum Yaya DaCosta has been cast to play the late singer and actress in the Lifetime biopic.
Post-ANTM, DaCosta has worked as an actress, appearing on All My Children, Ugly Betty, The Butler, In Time, and Tron: Legacy.
Angela Bassett will produce The Whitney Houston Story, which will chronicle the late singer’s tumultuous relationship with R&B bad boy Bobby Brown. The actor selected to play Brown hasn’t yet been announced.
Lifetime will air the film sometime in 2015.
