DreamWorks Animations is hoping Rihanna can deliver another hit for the studio that brought us blockbuster films like How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda. In the latest effort, Home, Rihanna gives voice to a plucky 11-year-old girl who befriends an unlucky alien that’s been kicked out of his clan.
The film, based on the popular children’s book The True Meaning of Smekday, also stars Steve Martin and Emmy winner Jim Parsons.
Peep the synopsis:
When Earth is taken over by the overly confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh. The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.
Home marks Rihanna’s voiceover debut. The film scheduled to hit theaters March 27, 2015.
