When I think of Disney characters, I immediately think of little girls and princesses. But artist Saint Hoax changes that perception by the launch of her latest awareness campaign using Disney characters portrayed as domestic violence victims.
Hoax’s project, titled “Happily Never After,” features characters such as Cinderella and Ariel. The disturbing images are captioned with “When did he stop treating you like a princess?”
Hoax describes the series as “an awareness campaign targeting any girl/woman who has been subject to domestic violence.” She hopes to “encourage victims to report their case in order for the authorities to prevent it from happening again.”
Clutchettes, what do you think about the artist’s use of Disney characters to spread her message?
