It seems as though Michael Rapaport just won’t let it go. We get it already. Remy from Higher Learning believes gentrification has done Brooklyn good, and Lee, says otherwise and notes that black people are getting Columbused out of all of the “good” that’s happening. In yet another Spike Lee fueled interview with HuffPost Live, Rapaport not only referred to Lee as a ‘shit stain’, he also challenged Lee to tell him that his movies suck face to face.
Take a look at the interview (fast forward to the 14 min. mark):
Rapaport also had a few words to say about Lee’s film career.
“When’s the last Spike Lee film you saw?” Rapaport asked host Marc Lamont Hill. “Nobody goes to see them shits.”
In a May interview on HuffPost Live Lee called Rapaport “stupid” and said he “doesn’t know what he’s fucking talking about.” Lee also took shots at Rapaport as as a director and said Rapaport sucked, which Rapaport replied to on Tuesday by saying, “I’m going to see him sooner or later… I wanna see you say ‘you’re stupid and your movie sucks’ right to my face.”
Rapaport needs to check his gentrified privilege and realize Lee may be right. Brooklyn may have gotten better for some after gentrification, but not for all.
