Actress Tisha Campbell-Martin recently appeared on “The Daily Helpline” and revealed publicly for the first time that she was raped as a child. Tisha’s admission came during a heartfelt conversation with a woman whose similar experiences continue to haunt her.

Campbell-Martin told the woman that holding on to the pain was giving the rapist dominion over her life.

“You can no longer be a victim, you have to be victorious at this point. You can’t play the victim because at this point I’m not saying this to put you down or anything. What I’m saying is that he is winning, and you are allowing him to win. You are making a conscious decision to harm yourself to hurt yourself and allow this person to still have dominion over your life. You can’t do that anymore,” Campbell-Martin stated.

Campbell-Martin stated that she understood what the guest was going through because she was raped at the age of three by someone older than her.

what was missing from her pep talk is TALK TO A PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT. i swear black folks must’ve invented that whole mind over matter idea because we act like all you have to do is wish away your worries & it’ll happen. if you been suffering for years over something negative that happened in your life, speak to a licensed professional. a lot of insurances cover mental therapy now.

    • I agree and I would also add to seek justice if still possible. By not seeking justice, you allow existing molesters and molesters in the past to become serial pedophiles.

To be sexually assaulted at the age of three…. THREE?!?! Jail is too good for rapists. Corporal punishment is in order. Why are people so evil?
