From Olivia Pope’s gray Max Mara coat to her Dorothy Gaspar gloves, Pope has become a fashion icon. Now you too can look as fierce and fashion-forward as Pope with the Scandal-inspired fashion collection now available at The Limited.
Monday night, Kerry Washington celebrated the launch of the first-ever Scandal-inspired collection at the IAC building. Models were seen sporting many of the signature pieces we all love such as the infamous Pope cape, pencil skirts, pants, sheaths and of course a Gladiator gown.
The Emmy-nominated actress describes the line as a collection that embodies elegance and power. She said, “The collection is a nod to our devoted fans, to fans of fashion and to women everywhere who are inspired to boldly pursue their passions and look good while doing it.”
Women often feel that they have to be either smart or beautiful, powerful or pretty, either fashion forward or successful, and I think this clothing line says you can be all of those things. You can be fabulous and fearless. And you don’t have to compromise who you are as a woman to fit somebody’s expectation of what power looks like.” — Kerry Washington
Washington created the line in collaboration with “Scandal” Costume Designer Lyn Palo and Elliot Staples, head of design for The Limited. With 78 pieces priced from $49 to $250, the collection features pants, blouses, dresses and outerwear.
Our collection evokes the striking and aspirational style that has become synonymous with the Scandal brand and its heroine, Olivia Pope,” The Limited’s design head Elliot Staples said. “Bringing a quintessential neutral palette together with soft feminine color, the collection is outfit-driven while remaining easy to mix and match – creating effortlessly modern and powerful looks.”
The mother-of-one hopes women will no longer have to “choose between smart or sexy.” The line embodies both. “You can be fabulous and fearless,” Washington stated on The Limited’s e-commerce site.
